Anil Kumar, Founder & CEO
Anil is an avid technology entreprenuer and has lead companies from startup phase to growth and acquisition. Anil founded SmartRx with a prime motivation to innovate and improve how people manage their health conditions.
Anil also co-founded Pragna Technologies which is currently a leading provider of RPO solutions.
Prior to this venture, Anil was Vice President of US operations of Realcom Inc, a Japan based public company focused on Knowledge and Content Management.
Anil successfully managed the merger of AskMe Corp with Realcom Inc. At AskMe Corp, Anil led the enterprise software business from ideation to building the product, and acquiring Fortune 500 customers such as
Proctor & Gamble, Boeing, Intel, Novartis, Microsoft, CCH and others. Eventually resulting in acquisition of AskMe Corp by Realcom.
Prior to AskMe Corp, Anil worked as a Program Manager at Microsoft and as a Software Engineer at Nokia Siemens.
During his career at startups and large enterprises, Anil has built product engineering teams from ground-up both in USA and India, lead product management,
led sales and business consulting teams working at Fortune 500 companies. Anil holds a B.S degree in Computer Engineering from University of Mysore.
Vijayakumar Kannan, Co-Founder & VP
Vijay leads SmartRx engineering team and is responsible for all engineering activities. Vijay brings over 10 years of software development experience. He is very passionate about startups and loves to deliver new, innovative software products to market. In 2010 he founded rupees4gigs.com – a market place for to buy and sell small services/products.
Prior to that he worked on various multinationals like AsconHealth Inc, Accenture on various roles from an engineer to lead roles. Vijay loves to do rapid prototyping and play cricket. Vijay holds an B.E in computer Science from the University of Madras.
Mathivanan Selvaraj, Chief Operating Officer
Mathi is an Healthcare-strategist with penchant for start-ups and scaling-up operations and market-share. Business-development, Strategic partnering/Alliances and team management are his forte.
He started his career in sales for a medical-equipment pioneer in Mumbai, became the National Business Head for Urology products with Blue Star Medical. Mathi spent 12 years in Singapore where he forayed into IT-Solutions & Services in South-East Asia with Regional/APAC business assignments. Returned to Healthcare, taking a senior managerial role with an Indian Healthcare-IT company into hospital informatics and subsequently founded healthcare services company into hospital training & staffing.
Mathi is familiar with brick & mortar as well as IT business-scenarios, enjoys working in multi-cultural environments with passion for HUMAN-partnering for attaining business-goals. An ardent proponent of taking healthcare to patients & their door-step, sees it as a necessary step in optimizing cost of healthcare delivery. He believes SmartRx provides the solution and framework to deliver the same, enabling healthcare for all.
Engineer from NIT-Trichy. He was a university table-tennis player and has continued with his love for sports & games till date.
Dr. Vishesh Rohatgi. MD – Medical Officer
Dr Vishesh is a non-invasive Cardiologist and Pharmacologist with clinical and health care management experience. Most recently he was part of the team to set up National Pharmacovigilance program of India (PvPI) in Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute. At SmartRx, he provides medical domain expertise and oversees product and content delivery for chronic and post-discharge care, build and review patient education materials, build care protocols and questionnaires for re-hab tracking.
Dr. Vishesh obtained a Bachelor degree in Medicine followed by a 3 year post-graduation in Clinical Pharmacology (MD). His clinical experience includes being a resident Doctor in the Department of Respiratory Medicine in Sharda Medical College and Research Institute. He spent 2 years in the field of Non-Invasive Cardiology at Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore.
Sateesh Andra, Director
Sateesh Andra is a Managing Partner at Ventureast, primarily overseeing the Ventureast Tenet Fund, a premier seed-stage VC Fund consisting of investments across technology (Mobility, Cloud, Internet) and technology-enabled (Education, Healthcare, Financial services, Cleantech and high-impact, invention-based social businesses) sectors. He has worked in or with venture-backed technology start-ups in U.S/India for the past fourteen years. With hands-on start-up experience and in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of VC funding, he looks for highly motivated and energetic entrepreneurs as partners.
Prior to joining Ventureast, Sateesh was Venture Partner and was one of the founding members of Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), India. He helped launch Hyderabad Angels, a platform to provide seed capital to start ups. As a private investor earlier, Sateesh has also invested in early stage American and Indian venture capital funds.
Prior to DFJ, Sateesh co-founded Euclid, a leader in the IT Management Software space and was instrumental in raising VC funding ($35 M+), acquiring, and managing customers and partners. He has also served in product marketing and engineering leadership roles at Tsqware (Conexant), LSI Logic, and VLSI Technology (Philips). Sateesh holds U.S. patents in Communications and Networking and has published several articles on Business - IT Alignment.
Sateesh has a B.Tech degree from JNTU, Hyderabad, and a Master's in Electrical Engineering from SIUE. He is a Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He is actively involved with the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy with the objective of popularizing sports, and promoting fitness consciousness in the corporate world. Sateesh co-founded Health Awareness Promotion Project India (HAPPI), which creates awareness about Non Communicable Diseases among IT professionals.
Sateesh was a top-ranked Table Tennis player representing A.P State in Nationals and is an ardent practitioner of meditation.
Dr Ramesh Byrapaneni, Director
Dr. Ramesh Babu Byrapaneni, MD FACC is a Venture Partner with the Ventureast Tenet Fund. Dr. Ramesh is Chief of Cardiology and Managing Director at Medwin Hospital.
He is also the President of TiE Hyderabad and one of the Founding Members of Hyderabad Angels. He has been actively involved with Nephroplus a Healthcare startup,
backed by funding from Bessemer. He has also jumpstarted various innovative initiatives like Hyderabad 10K run (the first to start these 10k runs in the country) and
Health Awareness Promotion Project India (HAPPi) Hearts project to prevent Non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Dr. Ramesh has had an excellent academic career. Dr. Ramesh Babu did his postgraduation in Internal Medicine, postdoctoral fellowship in Cardiology from PGI,
Chandigarh, and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from University of Alabama, Birmingham, USA. He was adjudged the Best Outgoing Student from the University.
Not surprising then that when you ask Dr. Ramesh what he likes, pat comes the reply, "Working". But that does not mean he is all work and no play.
His friends believe he is a cheerful person to have around. Dr. Ramesh lives with his wife, Dr. Srinagi, a doctor again, who is as gutsy as her better half.
He has an impeccable and proven track record in healthcare. After training in Cardiology at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research at Chandigarh, India, he did his fellowship in Interventional Cardiology from University of Alabama, USA, under Dr.Gary S Roubin, an internationally renowned Cardiologist.
Dr.Ramesh leads by example and has become the guiding light of the Medwin Family to create an atmosphere of care and comfort at this excellent healthcare center.
